About Big Mouth is a grand old double storey Art Deco building, set right in the middle of beautiful seaside St Kilda. A Wine Bar & Café on ground level and Lounge Bar and Dining Room offering 2 levels of views right onto the heart of Acland St. With a well-earned reputation for food, wine and entertainment, Big Mouth is unique, versatile and very popular. Established in 1993 Big Mouth is an institution in itself, and it is often referred to as one of St Kilda’s many icons. Built in 1938 this grand Deco building was recently renovated and stands proud as one of the most gracious rooms in Melbourne. The high ceilings hold the original chandeliers; the walls are washed in soft Indian tea greens, sari pinks and reds. Gold glazes show off the Art Deco cornices and ceiling features. The space is as eclectic as its clientele, a mix of creatives, suits, tourists and St Kilda locals. This ever-popular place is open 7 days a week to eat, drink, dance or just hang about. Our Wine Bar and Café The Wine Bar and Cafe on Acland Street has 300 degree views of St Kilda: Big folding windows, out door seating, palm trees and the sea breeze will remind you that you are beachside. During the day we serve the best coffee and eggs in St Kilda, at lunchtime smart regulars pop in for steaming bowls of hot soup or our famous Seafood Linguine, or our Hash Browns are homemade and attract customers for miles. Our Dining Room The Dining Room is a blushing sanctuary to the side of the main Lounge Bar. Detailed and elegant the room is like being in a beautiful and exotic tree. Our food is generous and clean. Modern Australian n with a soft Middle Eastern influence, simple in its approach. Our Chef, Josh Gabbay prides himself on quality, he uses the freshest seasonal produce, and he makes his own stocks and rolls his own gnocchi. Our Lounge Bar Lounge Bar is a hideaway tucked up on the first floor with great views of the Acland Barkly St Precinct. This bar room is eclectic and warm, with a strong local bar culture, cold beer and a great wine list. The Lounge Bar does what a bar should do best, give good drink: This sexy and gracious upstairs room has windows on every side showing off the first floor views.
